In addition to my writings here, I’m also a leadership and executive coach. I help young leaders find themselves and veteran leaders explore new ways of leading with compassion. If you’re interesting in working with me, my first session is entirely free and with no obligation. I like my clients to know what they’re getting themselves into before they pay for any services.
I remember learning a valuable lesson from an MBA professor years ago:
In order to understand someone’s perspective, you first need to understand the lens through which they see the world.Bret Simmons
So let me tell you a bit about me. I’m Tanner. I’m a proud father of two adult children. My wife and I also have one fiery, adorable, independent adopted baby girl that brings us equal parts joy and frustration. We wouldn’t have her any other way.
I entered the adult world as an intelligence operative and martial arts instructor in the Marine Corps. While serving my country, I earned my computer science degree from the University of Arizona, and when I resigned from the Corps in 2006, I began my career in tech where I’ve been ever since.
I previously worked on software that found and put away serial killers. Years later, I worked in the gaming sector, and after moving to Silicon Valley, I helped others earn their college degrees from home while working at an ed tech start up. More recently, I worked for LinkedIn assisting with platform and user privacy and protecting LinkedIn from attack. Now, I work for Salesforce as the Director of Technical Program Management for its AppExchange.
I’m a certified professional coach credentialed through the Co-Active Training Institute and through the International Coaching Federation. I use my expertise as a coach both for clients like you and also for high performing, high potential leaders within Salesforce.
In my spare time, I write, speak at conferences sharing my experiences as an agile and professional coach, and on weekends I enjoy beautiful California from several thousand feet as a private pilot. I also spend most Saturday mornings watching cartoon with my that adorable monster we talked about a few paragraphs ago.
Want to talk about how I can help you? Book some time, and we’ll figure it out together.
